First stage ID help - Zeagle/Apeks?

I bought this reg on eBay as a Zeagle/Apeks UST - but the only marking it has on it is the serial number 506447

It certainly looks like a UST-clone of some sort, but can anyone confirm if it is a Zeagle?

Will you have better luck with Zeagle 50D Apeks DST

Looks like an Apeks DIN wheel.

I know ATX with a 1/2" lp port

It's not a DST - it's unsealed. So it's not a 50D

It does have the 1/2" /cough bull**** /cough ATX-style port

The Zeagle model would be Z-RD I think

What I don't know is whether it's an actual Zeagle/Apeks or just some clone

I was kinda expecting it to have Zeagle on it somewhere but maybe not

Looks exactly like an Apeks UST.
These were often coupled with the RDS 2nd stage and distributed through Zeagle.....
I'd be 99.9% certain it's an Apeks and not a clone.

edit......yes Z-RD, my mistake....the RDS was a USD jacket BC.

The UST and Z-RD were the first set of regs I bought as a new instructor in 1991....a demo model from a Zeagle rep, it's still my pool reg today...it's never had a proper service (several "underhauls") works perfectly.

I have 2 DSTs and a bunch of other Apeks regs - all sealed

But given that 19C is "cold" water for me, the UST should do fine

Do you remember exactly when the UST first stage was discontinued? I know that for quite a while now the only unsealed Apeks first stage is the US4.

Don't know for sure, but I haven't seen one after the Zeagle days....that has to be getting on for 8-10 years ago now.
