I finnished my open water course this past weekend and it is a great feeling.
The water temp was a balmey 40 degree's, which was ok, I was quite warm untill I did my mask removal skill, then I felt how cold the water really was.

Had a little trouble getting my mask to seal again, trying to tuck it in my hood with bulky 5mm gloves on was quite an experince.
I would like to thank all those that gave me help with ear clearing techniques back when I started the cwpart of the course, no problems at all this weekend.

Looking forward to diving again next weekend :D

Congratulations on your certification! 40 degrees is COLD -- were you diving wet? If so, kudos to you! I've never been wet in water that cold (and never will be).

Cold water gear makes you clumsy. It takes a lot of practice before things like settling your mask are smooth and easy. Don't worry about it; you'll get there, if you keep at it.

Mask off has always crapped me off and always will. Sealing and clearing will come. Divers should be born with removable hair. Everywhere.
Very good.

40 degrees??? Fahrenheit??? Wet or dry, you Canadians are a rugged breed.

In California, we don't even allow our Lemonade to get that cold!

Congratulations!!!

40 degrees??? Good grief! I learned in Puget Sound (a day or two ago... ) and that was cold enough! You have my respect already!

Enjoy!!!

LOL yes 40 degrees fahrenheit, and I wore a 7mm wetsiut, be awhile before I can afford a drysuit.
I would like to get another course under my belt first and also buy a dive computer.
