my daughter uses the same flash on her underwater camera and it has done about 50 dives and hasn't missed a beat, i do know it has two optical sensors and it is also quite finicky about where you have it set for pre-flash but once you get it synced it works everytime she does use a fibre optis sync cable

Does not matter what is done, it only fires when the test/off is done. I am quite familiar with how to use flashes being a pro photographer. Tried calling them, someone was suppose to get back to me. But I was ignored on that too. I help out with a dive shop when not doing my regular job. Guess what equipment I don't push!
