It was Air Asia from KL to Manado return flights that was suspended early this year.
Have been assisting people for Indonesian domestic flights for year and this is what I found out:
- You can book Garuda airline far in advance and still get good rate.
- While for Lion Air & Batavia you better book 3 weeks prior to your flight as the airline only open their cheaper economy class during this time
- Merpati only hold the reservation for 3 hours and you should book within 1 month period.
Just like Alan, I strongly suggest you to book tickets with local agent or dive center who can help you. The main reason is: If the airline change the flight time that you have purchased, there is no way they will call you on your foreign phone # or send you e-mail about the change. But they will be more than happy to call your local contact who can send you e-mail to make you aware of any change with your flight.
