Been diving more than 22 years taking pics and as the saying goes... it's not a matter of if your housing floods, it's when and my canon g-10 did on the 1st dive two days ago in roatan!

Well now I have to decide if i want to get another g-10, move to a g-12 (have not heard great things about it though) or look at some other possibilites including oly and panasonic.lx-5

my main interest is macro and i use a subsee+10 with inon s2000.

one thing i do know is that i want to spend the money for a fisheye or rescea housing instead of a manufacturer's one.... the flooding was due to leaking through seals around the various buttons on the housing, which was only 3 years old

looking for feedback and suggestions

i had the same problem on my last dive, but since I had a Olympus tough 8010 it didn't harm the camera. I put some silicone on the seal and it slowed it down, but now I had a foggy camera so no good pics. I'm glad it wasn't dlsr :thumbs-up

if you want something with an oem housing, you should get one with a double o-ring. I had one of my camera with a brand new OEM housing flood after the first battery change. I looked at that single o-ring and it gave me bad vibes, and I was right. My other camera with double o-ring OEM housing never flooded in its 8 yrs of use.

The G12 is the best compact camera that I've seen for macro. The Recsea and Fisheye housings for the G12 are really well made and work the money if you are plan on doing a good amount of underwater photography. - Scott
