I am hoping someone in this forum can help me with suggestions. Our OW class will be doing our cert. dives at Vortex Springs the weekend of Sept. 20. As I understand it, this is near the Destin, Fort Walton, Pensacola area. The 6 of us have decided to stay an extra day and book a dive trip on Monday before travelling back to Louisiana. I need some suggestions for dive charters in this area. For our first dive in the ocean we would like something relatively easy and shallow while still being able to see something interesting. Can you suggest a charter(s)that is tolerant of newbies and help us to have a good experience for our first ocean dive? Thanks!

Since I got certified last September I have been out with Emerald Coast Scuba in Destin two times. Their 2 tank dives run $70ish with tanks. I was just their last month and did a 2 tank on 2 wrecks that were in 60 ft of water. They were pretty good with me, my sis and bro-in-law who are also new divers. You can also dive the jetties there in Destin. It's a nice beach dive. Just ask the dive shop when the best time is to be in the water. Here is their link Emerald Coast Scuba

Any more questions? Just ask.
