Spoon:
1.) sleek full face mask with built in liquid crystal display that will show air/depth/breathing rate/gps location in full color.

2.) integrated astronaut like bcd which will incorporate small tanks holding appropriate breathing gas in liquid form. there will also be small integrated jets on either style that will mimic buck rogers propulsion underwater.

3.) new fabric, isothermic technology for the wetsuit that will be .5 mm thick but will be enough to keep you warm throught the dive.

4.) hid dive lights that are small and compact and the ballast the size of your wrist/divecomputer.

1.)+2.) +Integrated HUD console +sonar +autopilot/joy(neck)stick to give you a ride with autoboyancy! And of course voiceOS and wireles internet to maintain contact to SB :eyebrow:

while were at it they should invent some gadget that allows you to breathe standardized gas at any depth and a special suit which will virtually eliminate deco stops,

You mean like the 1ATM suits used by deep commercial givers (the solid plastic articulated suits)?

nah that is cumbersome and restricts movement. i am talking about a thin spacelike suit wherein the bcd is attached to the mask via swivel movemnt in the neck. this is the critical part and will allow you not to do deco stops. imagine a pressurized mask that will automatically adjust to the surrounding pressure.

Well for it to eliminate deco stops, it needs to constantly be held at one pressure, not adjust for the surrounding pressure. The gear we already have automatically adjusts for the surrounding pressure, and that's the problem

oops my mistake bro, to make it short, a mask that will automatically eliminate deco stops. if thats possible:)

Nope.. if just the mask is kept at 1 atm, the rest of you needs to be as well, otherwise the rest of you is going to get sucked into said mask

the stuff ive been learning lately:) how does this sound? a 1atm full suit that is made of some meta-fabric that is part titanium mesh and isothermic fabric. so thin and light that you have freedom of movement just like a neoprene wetsuit but strong enough to brave the crushing pressures of the abyss. unlike the current bulky robotlike 1atm suits we currently have?

It's the future, man.

Of course there are going to be innovations and improvements in air system design...

A small tank containing liquid gas/air mixtures with a built-in step down regulator to allow use of our existing scuba regulators may not be unfeasible. The LDS would have a storage tank rather than unreliable, expensive-to-maintain compressors. The infrastructure is already in place regarding gas suppliers.

Think butane lighters.

I guess the tank and gas would still be heavy, though.
