Island Divers Hawaii will host two GUE DIR Fundamentals classes with Joe Talavera this summer. Classes will be held in Honolulu August 5,6,7 & 9,10,11.

Classes are full days and will cover everything from perfecting dive skills to increased team awareness. The class can be taken using single tanks or doubles. Day 1 will include academics and land drills, as well as swim test. Day 2 and 3 will be in the ocean with more academics following the dives. All dives will be videoed and replayed for enhanced learning. The class will focus on 1) Diving proficiency 2) Buoyancy and trim 3) Streamlining and equipment configuration 4) Propulsion techniques 5) Situational awareness 6) Communication 7) Dive planning and gas management 8) Surface marker deployment 9) Out of Gas skills 10) Basic Dive Skills

Cost is $450 plus boat charters and Nitrox fills (about $120). To sign up call the dive shop (808) 423-8222 (or 1-888-844-3483) and ask to be put onto the class of your choice. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required when signing up, remainder of the costs due when class starts.

Although the exact times aren't set, Friday is a full day... so now you have a good reason to take a day of! :wink:

We'll post the exact times here when we know, hopefully it will work out for you.
 
Sorry, I need a note from the coroner to get a day off. The death has to be me, no exceptions.
