Wow wonder when they put that out--- I have a new Eclipse --less than 2 months old--I wonder if it (inflator) should be sent in. Thanks for the post Vil

I haven’t seen a notice here yet about a recall Halcyon just released on the 25th of this month--- Here is a link:
http://www.halcyon.net/recall/index.shtml

I spoke to Mark--he said anyone with a SS inflator Mech should as of today should send it back to your dealer or directly to Halcyon.

Apparently only about 2% of the mechanisms are a problem, they just have no way of knowing which 2% so they want them all back. He also said the new mechanisms will have a line on the inflator button to show that it is not one of the potential defects.

Just thought I would help spread the word.

Just though that a bunch of DIR people use this type of BC it might help get the word out about them.

No they have not. This is like breaking news-- they will ship replacements to dealers soon he said.

Disassembled my halcyon stainless inflator to inspect for possible failure points. The thing is rock solid, the bore is super smooth, the o-rings are in good shape, the barrel is still adequately lubricated after many dives. Considering this, the fact that replacements are not shipped yet, and having practice with runaway inflation scenarios with wings as well as drysuits, I'm considering ignoring the recall.
