I've been diving for about a year and have a trip planned to Roatan this Saturday (July 18) and came here find information about what the situation is really like so that I can decide if I should go or reschedule my trip for a later time. I would love to hear from for divers that have just been there about what the situation is really like.

    Thanks,
    Audrey

    Hi Audrey,

Welcome from a fellow Minnesotan. I wouldn't worry about Roatan, go and have fun. Roatan is somewhat insulated from the issues of the mainland.

I'm here now. Other than being quieter than usual, it is completely normal and business as usual. Saw a lionfish and a nurse shark at Divemaster's choice yesterday.

Not too many nurse sharks here good spot, the lionfish seem to be most prevalent now.
