Yeah, my gear was a little funky on that dive. That was about a year ago, on my first dive with the new tank and the setup still needed some fine tuning. We were in a rush to do the shoot before the park opened, though... so it was a matter of getting the shots taken first and worrying about the rest later.

I've since got it all adjusted up nicely, but I think there's a definite point about the hoses. I may have to do some measuring and hose shopping tonight! :D

U.S. Divers
Aquarius

I've been told that it was made in 1991, at the latest. So, that's at least 18 years old.

1) Brand:
Sherwood

2) Model:
Magnum Blizzard

3) Year Bought:
2008.

4) Religious Maintenance Chores:
None - I'm not religious. I just rinse it off when I'm done. I just got it serviced (since I just bought it in October). It will probably be several years before I get it serviced again.

Oh Dear...

1) Brand: Dacor

2) Model: Pacer 300 1st stage with Dacor Pacer 2nd and Dacor Aero Occy

3) Year Bought: 1985

4) Religious Maintenance Chores: (How embarrising) 1st real service 2008, up till then wash out in fresh water and hang to dry.

The poor old thing died on my Rescue course last week and now cannot get parts..... knew I should not have got it serviced!! :D

I have a Spirotechnique MISTRAL around 1954, twin hose, with the Patent holders as Couseau and Cagnan. I still use it occasionally, not regularly, just for fun. Had to machine the "O" ring seat to fit newer style pillar valves. Had to replace the Inlet and Exhaust hoses in 198X, Non return valves at the same time, found spares in a local fire dept. Still get stared at, but....thats the point right...hahaha

My regular regs were a pair of Dacor Pacer 300's only rinsed after use, disc valves upgraded to silicone, mouthpiece upgraded. Hoses replaced, LP seats homemade replacements, and HP piston homemade replacement with urethane gasket. First stage acid cleaned every 5 years or so. Cant get spares, pity was a great reg with 000's of immersions.

In 2007 found some Brand new (but supidly discontinued) Dacor Pacer 960 XL's on ebay, Bought TEN of them. Now I am a happy fish! Big bore hoses, Ice rated, This diver is in regulator heaven. (IMHO Best regs ever made)

Welcome to the board Gilana. Just thought you might like to know there is an active group of vintage divers on the board. There are lots of old double hose regs restored and dove on a regular basis by us. I have in diving condition:
1-early 60's Mistral
1-58-59 DA Aquamaster (DAAM)
2- early 60's DAAMs
2- late 60's DAAMs
1- late 60's DAAM with a Phoenix conversion

Plus 1- 58-9 DAAM and 70 Royal AM that are in the process of restoration.

I use a Mares Abyss MR22 which I bought in 1994. I serviced last year the first Time and it looked like new. Just a good rinse and Air dry.

Still using a Sherwood Brut that I was given in 1984. Used to maintain it myself, but can't get the parts now.

Would it be possible for you to scan the original manual... I lost mine many years ago.
Thanks

Okay, I wasn't able to scan it on the flatbed.. as it's too fragile and I was worried it would rip if I forced it flat. So, instead I just laid it out as gently as possible on the floor and photographed it from above. The quality is a little crude (sorry, I didn't have time to set up the tripod and do it all very professionally).. but it's legible! =)

Here are the pages, cover to cover. N.B. - they're rather large images.
