Very brave to go this time of year, but excellent dive. Hopefully you're certified/trained/experienced for this type of dive...

I've been once, but I caution you that my memory for the directions is not much better than if I was led there blindfolded. I also seem to remember the directions on some of the websites are in fact misleading (deliberate?).

Anyway, what I remember is goto Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area, pay your money, take the left fork, come to a shelter area, go left again, follow the road through a canopy area and when you clear this there is a space off the road on the right for parking. About 100' further down the road is a a non-vehicle offshoot to the right that meanders into another canopy area (this is the point where you lug your gear for 0.5 miles through mosquito-infested swamp and curse thinking doing this in September was a good idea). At the end of that trail you basically keep going straight through the swamp ~ 100 meters (possibly following the red-orange ties?) to a clearing and swamp. Carefully enter the water, look around with your mask and you will see the floor drops out into a beautiful 130' and deeper cavern/cave.

Someone may need to correct my directions?

I wouldn't trust the orange tape too much. The first person that ran those missed the hole and didn't pull the tape down.

Enter the surface pool from the extreme end (not by the cypress stump). This will keep the area above the opening clean.

deepdiver4:
does any body know how to locate buford sink wanted to dive it on monday

Did you find it or did the swamp walk talk you out of it?

I plan on doing it this winter when things dry up and the critters slow down.
