Hey, everybody. I'm new to the DIR stuff, but am really digging the setup.

I bought a DiveRite canister light. It came with the quick belt mount and a stainless hose clamp.

How/where do you attach the can light? What does the hose clamp do?

I know these are pretty dumb-sounding questions, but I could certainly use the help. Pictures would be great!

Thanks. So, you use either the hose clamp or the quick mount, but not both?

My canister has 2 stainless steel hose clamps that hold a piece of webbing onto the canister. This forms a belt loop that slides onto my BP/W webbing (Right side). I then slide on a weight belt buckle and lock it in place. This keeps my light from sliding off the belt when I undo my main buckle.

Super simple.

The setup you have is simple. Use the hose clamp to secure the top of the quick mount. The bottom of the quick mount then slides over the bottom of your canister. If need be,I can see if I have my light with that setup with me and can take a pic.

James, pics would be great.

Thanks, guys!

I use that mount and love it. Removal of the light for charging is a snap and I can pull it off easily underwater if it ever gets tangled in something.

FYI to Keep the light from sliding on your belt, use a ss weight belt Buckle and simply lock it in place. Don't thread the buckle though only pass the belt through the throat of the buckle. This places the latch towards the front I.e. opposite of your bc buckle and its easy to remove.
