the five-day chart shows Ivan smack on top of Jamaica by 2:00 pm
Friday, and heading on into western Cuba (just like Charley)
by 2:00 pm on Sunday.

Ivan is expected to strenghten as it moves westward.

Still showing something heading on Charley's track, shall we warn Punto Gorda/Ft Myers/Tampa already??

Colin/Jeff/WildBill, do you guys need a hand putting things in order this weekend before the next big hit??

Bonaire and the other ABC islands are under a hurricane warning from Ivan. And those islands are not in the hurricane zone. No one is safe from Mother Nature.

Time to start praying & planning....

the five-day chart shows Ivan in the Gulf of Mexico Monday morning, about parallel with
Marco Island and heading towards the Panhandle.

Ivan is still expected to strenghten, with max sustained
winds right now of 140 mph.

yes, you can see from the 5-day track that Ivan could be anywhere from the Yucatan
to the east coast of Florida by Monday morning.

See the Crown Weather site and about half way down the page you can see pictures of those model outputs - put figures to what you read in the discussion (or of course plot out the numbers that are posted in the discussion - i prefer it when someone else does the work for me, hence the figure). There are loads of possibilities. I am beginning to lose faith in the forecast track, but it is the best guess as to where they think it could go according to probability and the model outputs - but it hides that fact from the general public by giving them something short, sweet and simple to concentrate on rather than thinking about this whole problem and seeing the chance that things could change depending on the climatic conditions of the rest of this week or so til it arrives around here.
