Not a commercial diver in thr true sense, More than likely a local who just dives without any training which is the norm up here.

See what some these guys are doing is horrofying, 40 metres dives on hookah gear bottom times in excess of an hour 3 times a day. Always come back to work and dvie to get rid of the pain. We see a lot of these types who come to hyperbaric for treatment most unable to walk and urinate.

He is certainly not a commercial diver in the sense that we use the term. That is a really sad story.
Surface supply does not rely on one compressor. The gas is banked, besides which the diver would usually have bailouts that he could easily switch to from controls on his helmet.
