We tried Palos Verdes last week and had eight feet vis. The same conditions awaited us in San Pedro a couple days later. Today we tried to escape the dirty water by going north to El Segundo. It was not only worse but the surge stirred up the sand and made it difficult to hold my position around the elevated outfall pipe. Every photo I managed to shoot before getting swept out of focal range is full of particulates. Visibility was five feet or less and it got worse during the dive. Maybe I should wait until Fall before getting in the water.
The only nudibranchs I found were lots of Trapania velox and a few Doriopsilla albopunctata. The elevated pipe can be a jackpot for hunters of the tiniest nudis in California but today it was impossible to spot them.
