Is there any interest in a Goodman style handle for the DRIS 1000 and 500 lights?

If you're thinking of using the holes for bolt snaps, you should make sure the edges are nicely rounded. Otherwise a sharp edge may cut that cave line in short order. You also need to make sure the holes are big enough to get say #36 cave line through the hole twice.

A new update.

This can fit more than just the DRIS.

The top part is threaded so you can tighten it and loosen it to adjust to fit different sizes. The Jaws are angled so that they can grab onto different diameters.

With the current length screws it can fit 1." to 1.75" diameter. If you buy longer or shorter screws then it will fit a minimum of 1" diameter and a max of 2" diameter.

I also added a series of holes around the handle so you have options for where to attach bolt snaps.

This thing keeps getting better and better. Quick question. For the bolts that tighten the jaws what type of head on the bolt is going to be used? The handle might be in the way to tighten it from the bottom if you are using a screw driver. Or put two holes in the handle for the screw driver to go threw and get rid of the other six maybe. Or are they going to be a hex head bolt? Just thinking. Of course you could just take all apart to do it too but ick.

Anybody know the diameter of the Dorcey back up lights? Sign me up for 2 handles if they will fit as well.

aye carumba! All this talk, and I could really use one this weekend......:banghead:

Lol me too, if I'm lucky I might get in a night dive this weekend but I don't know yet. But would wouldn't you have something just right then wrong and sitting at the bottom of the bag.

Just found out the Dorcy 220's are 1.25" in diameter in case anyone else was curious.

I'm down for 2!!!

Can you measure #36 cave line for me?

The screws are button head hex. That way they shouldn't bother your hand too much.

I'm out of town until next week. I'll get you the size then.

Good call. SS button hex should stand up well to ham fisted tightening and be perfectly comfortable as well.

The tapped upper block causes me some concern. If for some reason it seizes, its trash. If you stick with utilizing nylon lock nuts on top, there is always a saving solution....
