I saw the same show & was not surprised that the bell was taken the very next day.
It was a shame, since they had searched f/ this wreck f/ awhile. The people who took it are not planning on donating it to a museum for all to see. They plan on selling it to the highest bidder. It will then, probably, end up in some rich guys mansion. Where few, if any will be able to travel to see it.
 
Tech Diver once bubbled...
Last night i was watching the wreck detective's on the national geographic channel and they had been looking for a missing wreck in the truk lagoon and finnaly found it with in one day of them finding it some diver went down and stole the bell this seems very harsh to me as all the people who died on board the ship and they slowly strip it apart leaving no nothing. :upset: :upset: ;-0

Yes, and it it looks great in my garage. If you pay me $5000 you can have it.
