I was in Florida this winter, and stopped in a dive shop to get my pony bottle filled.

There was a woman ahead of me wanted to get a regulator fixed.

The owner showed her the inside of the 2nd stage, which looked like it had been buried in the back yard since the 60's, and told her it would need to be completely rebuilt..

The woman said "It's only for my husband, can't you just fix it a little?"

I guess she didn't beleive in divorce

Holy cow! That's nearly, but not quite, unbelievable!

I guess I'll prefer to hope that she was so much the newbie-novice that she didn't have any idea how well this one piece of gear needs to work and was thinking that her husband is also a newbie-novice and doesn't need but the minimum of working gear...
