Cool Beans! Thanks for the updates, and positive energy to you and Jameson.

as a bit of an aside, Marci, you do know that you've for ever condemened Jameson to confuse all Southerners he comes into contact with?

"What's your name, son?"

"Jameson"

"Alright, James, lets.."

"My name is Jameson"

"That's what I said, son."

"No, you said James"

"Exactly."

"My name is Jameson"

"Are you trying to be smart with me, son?"

eh, he can go by jamie iffen he wants to...

it got put off til today - there were sick babies to send first! :D

but he's doing good. held him another hour last night. he's adorable! but bald, very bald. he has baby pattern baldness. it's come on in the last month. i guess he was meant to be a bald baby.

Glad you are keeping your spirits up Marci, he is a fighter just like his mamma

Marci,

I happen to like baby(male) pattern baldness. Just ask The Kraken.

Sure is good to know that they put sick babies first and you are just gonna have to wait a little bit.

no strictures! so no narrowing of his little gut!

which is good, but means there isn't a magic bullet. darnit.

*if* this time of trying to feed doesn't work (because his bowel sounds, those growling noises that mean everything's churning like it's supposed to, are the best they've ever been), his intestine may not work well for a long time. a long time.

and getting nutrition by his tummy is very important to a lot of things. he's getting iv nutrition and growing, but that causes liver problems and his liver is enlarged. his liver being large makes his abdomen big, so his incision is harder to heal and his lungs get more pressure so he has to be on the vent...on & on.

SO - direct your thoughts & prayers to his intestines, that they begin working normally.

in lots of other ways, he's doing great. they're coming down slowly on his sedation, and he's more alert & active. his lungs are very improved. he's 6 1/4lbs. he's snuggly!

Good vibes for the intestines. It does sound good Marci that he is growing and gaining weight. One day at a time!

In the spirit of March Madness some cheers (altered from here) for Jameson's intestines:
