Jill Heinerth, (for those who don't know-one of the top cave explorers and ccr divers in the world) has just released her long-awaited cave diving manual:
Jill's Guide: The Essentials of Cave Diving.
    More info here: www.JillsDiveShop.com

    From the book jacket:
Cave diving has been called the “most dangerous participatory sport” in the world.

It doesn’t have to be. With proper training, experience, and guidance, you can be a skilled cave diver, and enjoy this challenging and rewarding activity, for a lifetime.

With decades of technical diving experience, including world record cave dives, and paradigm changing underwater exploration, Woman Divers Hall of Fame member Jill Heinerth, has created this full color contemporary guidebook.

Generously illustrated, “The Essentials of Cave Diving” contains practical 21st century underwater knowledge, including sidemount techniques and the latest rebreather technology.

Encompassing all levels of cave diving, from apprentice to expert, from sidemount to CCR, this guide is an essential manual, appropriate and relevant to all cave training disciplines.

Order yours today and get a limited edition signed copy.

Jill will host and emcee the NSS-CDS Cave Diving workshop May 21-23 in Florida. Come by and say hello, and learn a great deal about cave diving.

I'll miss it by a week ... I'll be returning to Florida on the 29th.

I've long admired Jill's photography, and hope to tell her that in person someday. If her book is anywhere near the quality of her pictures, it's a must read ... most likely before I take that trip at the end of May.

I'm in the dark here (pun almost intended) but what's wrong with the cover and who'll get pissed about it?

Well done Jill. See you soon.

Just ordered mine. It will be just the thing to read before I'm off to Playa in May for Cavern/Intro. I liked previous book better than any of the agency texts I reviewed.

Assuming it gets sent right away, mine should arrive at my house while I am staying near her house working on my certification. Hmmm. Some poor thinking going on there somewhere.

A few months ago I wrote an article for an education journal that included references to cave diving, and the editor asked if I could get some pictures for it. I asked Jill for permission to use a couple of hers, and she graciously sent me two spectacular shots she had taken that very day.
