Lake Malawi, Cape Maclear Scuba in the south or Aqua Africa in the north, If you are only interested in the cichlids this lake is great, but there isnt much else to see there.

As above - cichlids, difficult to organise a dive (not aware of any dive ops there) and very under developed...Bali will seem like NYC in comparison.

Tanganyika gets my vote. Love the cichlids from there. Mbunas, not so much.
