I took my reg into my LDS to be serviced before my last trip (3 weeks ago). I picked it up, peeked in the reg bag, everything appeared to be in order and I left for my trip. Imagine my surprise when I went to use it and found that it had been put on UPSIDE DOWN. The hose was coming from the left side, and due to a custom mouthpiece, I couldn't exactly use it upside down. I didn't have much choice except to use it with the hose cutting across my throat and practically strangling me as it caught on my BC. Now that I'm back from my trip, I'm going back to the LDS to find out what the hell happened.
How should I handle this? I paid them for a service and not only did they not perform the service properly, they endangered my life as well. Granted, you should always check your gear when you have it serviced, but how often do you hear of someone taking a reg in and getting it back screwed up?!? I've already decided to find a new dive shop, but I'm not sure if I should give these guys hell or just see what they say? I never had problems with them before, but this is kind of a big deal. Any advice is appreciated....thanks.
