Hey, I'm making a reel and I was wondering if 3/16" polyester yacht braid line was ok to use for a reel line or if its too thick.

Too thick by and large. For wrecks you want #36.

doesn't polyester float? you don't want floaty line. i think the stuff you want is nylon, but i'm at mama's & don't have any references to be sure.

I used 1.5mm nylon "pebble weave" line from a yachting shop. Specifying by weight (#) drew me blank stares down here.
