Lobster Mini Season

I'm just bummed that I'll miss the festivities, and only by a few days... (sigh)

Are you allowed to take in the National Marine Sancturary? Are there areas that are off limits during the regular season that are open during the mini season

My advice would be to never take from inside the yellow buoy markers, or those could be the most expensive bugs you've even taken.

The other big difference between mini-season and regular season is min-season is strictly sport. That is to say that it is not open to the commercial fisherman.

Hey Tom, I was not dissing mini season.... more to the fact dissing it from a tourist perspective, especially what I've seen in the Key Largo area.

One of these years, we need to stay into Aug, and I'll have to book some dives and do it. I'm sure it can be a blast, but it is a huge mess in a lot of areas. FL locals sure seem to like it however. Traffic into the Key during those days is horrendous!
