NORTHWEST ATLANTIC

LOBSTER TAGGING PROGRAM – 2006

Fisheries biologists are tagging lobsters as part of our Northwest Atlantic Lobster Tagging Program in cooperation with Maine and Massachusetts lobstermen. This tagging work will provide information on lobster migration rates and net directional movement among regions within the Gulf of Maine.

Participating fishermen will receive:

�� A tagging project hat (max. 2 per vessel)



�� Entry into a raffle for every tag called in (unlimited raffle entries, 1 for each tag number reported)



�� You could win one of five $500 gift certificates to a marine supply store!



Tag Number Telephone number and extension



What To Do: Call the number on the tag (617-727-0394 x 363) with the following information:

• Tag Number

• Location in either GPS or LORAN

• Sex, egg status, v-notch status, and length if possible

• Your name, vessel name, address and phone number

So....did anyone find one? Anyone know if they will be doing it this year too?
 
We should all get hats like that -- then when we go to Gloucester to dive we can fool them into thinking we're lobstermen! Bet it won't stay on too good underwater though...

I got the e-mail on dec 4th 2006. might be a typo on the flyer. (I don't check that e-mail account often)
