We started getting picked up at Tortugas rather than the marina after the parking situation became unbearable. Erik allowed us to park at his beach club as long as we had a beer or a snack after our dive. He had a great smile. No idea as to anything that was happening in his business or his life. Shocked and saddened to read about his death.

For about 5 -8 years the reports being published peak in the fall. The one that concerned me was the 500 kg with pictures being published on an anchored platform held by what looked like a WWII cargo net in shallow water just north of Chin Rio, about 5 years back.
