I live in Tokyo and have started to explore options for diving around Chiba/Izu. Having looked around dive shops I have noticed that a number of them in Izu offer “self diving” service i.e. diving without a dive guide, but prerequisite is that there needs to be a minimum of 2 “self diving” buddies for that to be possible. They don’t allow solo diving. Divers would still pay “facility use fee” and few other miscellaneous bits... which change from shop to shop.
So I am looking for like minded individuals who are proficient in diving and are also looking to make some bubbles around Chiba/Izu. That way we could meet the “self diving” buddy requirement. Ideally you should own your dive gear so there would be more flexibility with picking dive sites, dive shops etc.
