I was diving in Cozumel, from Nov. 8-12. I had a 14 megapix Intova camera that accidentally slipped from my wrist and floated to the top, as a group of divers from Scuba Dive Club Cozumel dropped in, on top of us. The captain of that boat told my captain that it was retrieved by someone who would not give it back. It had my name on the housing and camera. If whomever has my camera, could you at least have the heart to contact me at mainer04270@yahoo.com, to make arrangements to return my memory card, I would be forever grateful. You can keep the camera! Not sure why someone would want my pics, and talked to Henry at Scuba Dive Club Cozumel. Not much help there, and sorry to say, my great opinion of divers has been jaded, by this, even though there are many more thoughtful than uncaring divers in the world. :depressed:,:(
TIA,
Upset diver

:shocked2:

"Finders - keepers, Losers - weepers" is for babies! What a horrid person.

Thank you, Jax! I appreciate your support , and expressing what a horrid person this is.

That sucks. I'm sorry. Maybe someone who know him will see this...and mock him endlessly till be succumbs from the shame.
I lost my camera on my last trip to Kona and I was heartbroken to have lost the camera...but mosly the entire vacation's dive pictures.

Perhaps you could include a little more detailed info such as the date, approximate time and, if know, the dive site? It might help jog the memory of another diver on the SSC boat (Scuba-Cozumel?) to out the chicken$#!t who would not give it back. The dive community can be a small world and Karma can be a bitch.

Wow... that's sad. Quite frankly, I'm a bit surprised someone from SCC hasn't "back channeled" you information about the diver. Out of curiosity, did you offer a reward for it's return? (not that it SHOULD be a factor).

I feel your pain, some years ago my dive buddy had her UW camera stolen out of our liveaboard's camera soak tank! If memory serves, we think the culprit was after her Manta photos.

What a tool. Diving is a potentially dangerous sport with no room for ass holes. I wonder how he feels about sharing air? Probably for it only if it's him who needs it.

I hope it was insured. If not, do insure the next one - on your homeowners or rental insurance, or State Farm has a wonderful Personal Articles Policy that will cover dive cameras and more.

And you couldn't find it even on the boat? Not that many to suspect, but I guess you couldn't search their bags. I guess there are ass holes anywhere you go.

The boat captain from SCC knew someone found it, and let them keep it? Says a lot about there operation......
