I am getting uniformly too-dark shots in macro mode, while exposures are perfectly lit with the camera in normal focus mode.
Set up: Canon D870IS, Canon housing with Inon D2000 slave triggered via fiberoptic cable anchored in Inon base mount on the housing. strobe arm is ultralight 8" off the top of a standard ultralight tray and handle.
I shoot with the camera in Manual mode and also the strobe in manual, and have the strobe output dialed in for shots 3-4 feet away.
Problem is, if I move in close, reposition the strobe, toggle the camera over to macro, and don't change anything else, the macro shot comes out way dark.
Any ideas on why this happens and how to get brighter macros with this setup? Thanks in advance.
Jeff
