Seattle! You have to be kidding! Does the sun ever shine there?

the dark siders congregate there. It's the DIR mecca.

I'm sure that is most of the attraction.

I would drown in a dry-suit. I don't know...Kona coffee beats most coffee I've had.

No the sun never shines, the diving sucks, and the water is incredibly cold. You should all stay very far away from Seattle. Oh yes and we all pray to the evil coffee empire, or maybe that is just me. :) LOL

Is harper pier the pier where you can see six gill sharks in shallow water? If so that is definitely one of the coolest dive sites I've heard of/must dive one day. I've seen some incredible footage from there.

Gloucester/Rockport, MA. aka Cape Ann. (For shore diving, anyway)

Because it is essentially an island, there is usually at least one site that isn't 'blown out' from weather.

Also, variety from beginner to advanced sites. You can keep it @20' with an easy beach entry or you can hit @80' less than 100 yards from shore.

Does is snow there? If so, its off my list!

Of course we have sunlight in Seattle.

I saw some last week.

Honolulu: we have wrecks, we have walls, its warm, its clear, cool stuff topside, like paddlers and kiteboarders and surfers. We have endangered monk seals we see all the time, we have turtles on every dive, we have endemic fish, we have sharks, we have very few RULES. We are free from massive scale consumerism and we don't have to keep up with the Jones here. We think it's fine if our neighbors have rock gardens because everybody's yards are a mess. Now, I want one.

Nobody tells us we have to have snorkels. It is a water culture. Children take the bus to the ocean and are not abducted. You don't have to wear shoes to Punahou, one of the best prep schools in the USA.

hands down, better than LA (for diving)

SoCal is not a city, ken. Guess you better say Monterey if you want to be a contender.

We have CLEAN AIR and pure volcanic filtered drinking water.

From watching Dog the Bounty Hunter, it makes Hawaii look like a giant crime infested ghetto.
