Hello All,

RE:

and this thread with Luis' drawing around post #68
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/vintage-equipment-diving/269229-scubapro-mark-v.html

A while back there was interest in obtaining a batch of stainless steel turret retainer bolts for the MK 5. I do not remember if anyone came up with a source or not, so if anyone has a line on getting some, please speak up.

If you are a machinist or know someone who is, and would be interested in making a batch please let us know. In the meantime, would all interested parties state how many they would be interested in purchasing so we can get an idea of the batch size. If we can get a good deal on these I know a lot of us would be happy.

Let's get the list started:

I'll take two or three depending on the price. I think only one of my MK5s has a brass retainer, but there's nothing wrong with having a few extra.

Matt 2
Oceancurrent 4

I am also interested for 2 to 4, also depending on prize.

I will also try to get some quotes again.

Thanks Luis
OK that is 12 min so far

Will the stainless turret nuts from the Oceanic Omega series regs fit? It used a clone MkV and they were in production until a few years ago.

I checked the TUSA clone and it was not the same. I have not checked the Oceanic, but my guess is that they would have also up-graded the design.

Thanks

Zung 1 or 2, depends on price

I may have to return my MK5/R109 to my nephew and revert back to being a mere mortal:depressed:

Is it thinkable to cut it for a 7/32" Allen instead of the regular hex?

The largest hex key you could fit into it is a 9/64" (or maybe a 5/32"), but I would have to look more into how it would affect the strength and air flow area. My first impression is that it is not worth it.

I am gone for a week so I won't be looking into it until after I get back.
