Will be moving to Oahu in about a month. Will be looking for a good dive shop and some diving buddies. Any suggestions?

Military-affiliated, by chance? There's a pretty good military dive club on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (on the Hickam side), Sea Lancers Diving Club. As far as shops go, I can mention three right off the bat: Island Divers Hawaii, with a satellite shop on Hickam; Ocean Concepts, who's main shop is right next to Pearl Harbor, and Dive Oahu, with a gear shop in the Navy Exchange and a shop on Camp Smith. Check out this thread: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/hawaii-ohana/429758-oahu-shore-kayak-diving-buddies-wanted.html for some buddy opportunities.

Tim,
Thanks! Not military. Retired civil service and currently work for a government contractor. I accepted a promotion to be the area director and it looks like I will be there permanently around the first of October. Can't wait to get settled and do some diving!

+1 on Island Divers.

Gabe and Kaimana Divers do get a lot of great press here, I just haven't had the opportunity to dive with them yet, so I can't really have an opinion. I just got back at it after a pretty long break, so I hope to give them a try one of these days...
