Thanks. Actually I just got a speargun to go spearfishing with my dad and that is actually what we were going to do in Myrtle Beach. He is an avid spearfisherman but I have no experience. If I go I may be going on my own so I have a gun but may need some assistance from whichever outfit I go with to make sure I'm on the right track.

The most popular guy for spearfishing charters in NC is http://www.spearitcharters.com/ He has a great reputation for spearfishing and meg tooth collecting trips.

Capt Leroy on the Captians Lady at Discovery Diving also has a very good reputation among spearfisherman. Try to get on one of his spearfishing trips to the rock ledges.

At least some of the crew on most of the boats are spearfisherman. Spearfishing is allowed on most trips, but if the other people on the boat prefer to see sharks, well.....you may not have the experience you're looking for.
