Good Luck with the new toy SnowBear,
I have a 15.5' (4.7m) Zodiac with 40 hp. We use a folding stainless steel ladder that hangs over the side. Works great and makes it a little easier to get in than doing The Uncle Pug "Sea lion flop". I don't go anywhere in it without the portable VHF radio.
