I hope someone has some knowledge of this. What are the names of the companies that are the so called knock off brands of say Scuba Pro, Atomic just name a few. I guess what I am trying to ask what would be the generic. Say I wanted to buy a Scuba Pro reg that is $400 but I could buy this other brand who is actually made by Scuba Pro for $100 less. What are the comparisons on this? Like Atomic equals this or Scuba Pro equals this. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

scubapro is coming out with a less expensive brand ..same regulators, different look to them,no lifetime free parts ..available soon at authorized scubapro dealers

Why not just go with a different brand altogether. One that does offer warranties or one that will let you service the reg yourself? I'm switching to HOG/Edge because of their policies. Have two now and within two years should be able to replace my other 6 regs of different brands.

I think what you mean to ask is "info on house brand regulators which are made by the same manufacturers as some of the name brands"?

Few brands actually manufacture their own products,or any product for that matter, (there are a few who do manufacture a few of their own lines, but certainly not everything, and they are very much in the minority) mostly everything is farmed out to specialist manufacturers, and certainly, no major brand name manufacturer will commission the manufacture of a generic brand, simply because it will just be like competing with their themselves.

On generic regs their are literally dozens to choose from, generally all the same internally but with differant cosmetics to suit the buyer. Some house brands may change small things like for (eg) the LP seat material density, but, most dont, simply because the manufacturer has usually got the product down to a fine art and theres no real need to change things, but even if they did, these are usually very minor changes and dont really affect the regulators air flow characteristics or basic functions.

Respected manufacturers like "Ocean divers supply" produce high quality products under many differant house names, and in my opinion you could buy any of them with confidence.
