Hello There,I was recently in Thailand on a dive safari and we came upon this creature on the floor. I believe it is some kind of Sea Cucumber. Anyway I don't have a photo but I will describe it. It looks like a plant with 10 to 12 Stems sticking out in almost like a clock shape. It has a whole in the center and it feeds itself by bringing each of the stems into the mouth in a very systematic almost clockwise manner...It was one of the strangest things I have ever seen underwater...It almost looked like soft coral with the stems/arms all facing up and then out...

I know that this is a vague description but can you help anyway?

There are a number of species of sea cucumber that exhibit this behavior. The crown of tentacles was probably at one end of a larger body that may have been buried in the sand.
