Nassau on the ground

My girlfriend and I will be on the ground in Nassau for about 6 hours waiting to fly to George Town the third week of April. That would give us about 3 & 1/2 hours to sight see.

Does anyone have suggestions as to what to do or see? We are not gamblers and not at all interested in casinos.

So far we've been thinking of renting a car and drive around - good idea?

I wouldn't bother with a car. By the time you pay for the car, taxes, insurance, gas, etc and have to go through the hassle of renting and returning it, you could take a taxi for much easier and about the same price.

Check with a taxi to see what hiring him for the day (or 5 or 6 hours) would be. I hired a car for the entire day in Jamacia once for I think $35 to $50 bucks. Much easier.

As for what to do, I'll be in Nassau this summer for only one day (on a cruise) and one of the things I want to do besides a little tourist shopping is to visit the Atlantis resort and check it out and their aquariums, etc.
