I'm not familiar with ACUC, but it sounds like it's one of the better ones. Be thankful you found that course instead of one of the quick easy courses. You'll be a better diver as a result.

The skills you refer to are not all that uncommon, especially the underwater swim. My students all complete that before we move on to skin diving. They complete skin diving before we move on to SCUBA.

I just finished my OWD at the beginning of May. I had to do all that you listed, and more.

But I liked it. The idea behind the training is that you become the best diver possible, so learning these skills is important. It all sounds hard at the beginning, but take it a step at a time....you will grow into it, so to speak.

Enjoy your course, and when it gets hard, beg for more!
