New Diver Looking for best BC

+1 on the A.P.Valves Buddy Commando.... but I don't think they are marketed much in the USA? I think this is one of the best jacket style BCDs around.

Now that they have changed the absolute crap shoulder buckles.

The 'Commandos' I used to own were '80s and '90s vintage...developed on military specification. I heard that they 'improved' them a few years ago, with more gadgets and flash, and they got bad reviews. It's good news that they've gone back to the old formula.

I plan on doing some local dives in lakes and traveling to Quarries and the Atlantic. As for international travel I do not plan on it because of my budget as a college student right now. Those are two that i was looking into because of reviews. I am open to any other recommendations on what is a good BC. Im trying to stay under $500.

there are plenty of good bc's out there for way less than $500...
