Gotta Say Omission, seems to be showing a limited view in tech and Diving in general

Regarding your points
A - I would love to introduce you to a whole group of vets and handicapped persons that have altered drysuits and other dive equipment to meet their needs

B - Of course, this assumes you subscribe to a standard configuration for diving. That, of course, leaves out a large segment of population that may have a need or desire to call BS on light or computer placement, (left handers are a possibility, for example) many certified as cave and technical divers.

C - again, all assuming the only configuration acceptable is standardized. More importantly, all of the hose routing you call for isn’t even necessary, unless for some reason you think the inflator isn’t a swivel style. If the port were fixed in a different direction, it only means replacing one inflator hose with a slightly longer one and relocating it to another port.

Of course, if the picture is reversed, as most expect, then your whole post is nothing more than a troll, no value to anyone, other the your own id.

First- handicapped/disabled routing of gear is mission specific adaptation by definition NOT standard. I'm glad it can be modified for them- but of course that is a red herring because we are talking about the rule not the exceptions in a diver manual.

Second, technical diving is VERY MUCH about standardization- it's a safety component to ensure dive teams operate efficiently and safely in hazardous diving conditions. Can you please show us an agency that does not advocate gear standardization in technical diving?

Yea thought not. Again- a nice try to dodge the issue but really - just a lack of understanding of WHY Tec diving requires such standardized and routinized configurations- SAFETY.

Third- you display an utter lack of comprehension of my criticism- which points out the problem of the picture itself was secondary to the "defensive" response that raised issues related to the rationale for specific location of valve placement on a dry suit.

I think Jim is to be commended for working to better scuba instruction- but everyone needs to be open to criticism and feedback...

Except of course you, obviously......

The cover makes me want to take a Drysuit course and buy a drysuit! I assume I am your target!

Heheheh, imagining somebody with a right hand dry suit deflator needing to flap their wings to deflate is a funny image.

Not many local SDI LDSs in my area but hopefully one day I can take a look through it :)

And once again, you missed the entire point. It is an SDI course, not TDI. There is nothing technical about it.

But hey, I'll play along. You're a TDI guy, why don't you show me any place in approved training material where it tells you what hand to hold the light, or where to mount your computer. Hmmm, chapter 9, Equipment of the Overhead Course? Nope not there. Surely it has to be in the Intro to Tech course? Nope, not there either. Heck I'll even go to the original Guide- Fundamentals of Technical Diving. Guess what- still not there.

Comprehending your quote? That's easy, you trolled.

But again, you're a smart guy and knew all this, making this all a giant waste of time. I think I'll follow Jim's example and just leave you under the bridge!

LOL

Read a gue or uti tech manual. Lights go there there and there. Knife goes there. And dump valves go on left humerus area so you can dump BCD and drysuit with same hand and watch depth and time at all times.

What was the reason for SDI to update a drysuit manual?

Do you have reading or comprehension issues? Because it's unclear which is the problem in your non-responsive diatribes.

Let me try this VERY SLOWLY SO EVEN YOU CAN UNDERSTAND.

The PRIMARY criticism was NOT THE PICTURE.

It was the AUTHOR'S RESPONSE - which created justifications and rationalizations - which could easily have been avoided with "it was a poor choice picture" response -instead of a defensive "let me ask you a question" response to questions.

Jim's capable of defining his positions- and we've discussed it offline. You, however, obviously don't really understand drysuits or Tec diving - because you want to mold reality to justify the defense of an indefensible position. Drysuits are designed a specific way for a specific set of reasons. Maybe YOU don't like that reality- maybe YOU know better than the engineers, designers and specialist trainers who developed them- but I'll take their word over someone claiming to be a "Tec" instructor who fails to understand the rationale (both safety and practicum) of drysuit configuration in diving.

Fortunately life support equipment nonconformity is NOT accepted as mainstream. But for you I'd be happy if they make all the exceptions you'd like them to make.....

Love getting shot down after doing something I am proud of.

Damn guys he had nothing to do with the picture. How many times have we seen marketing get it wrong? I'd be more concerned about what the text reads.

But now the text is all ****ed up!

Better than a photograph of these guys in drysuits!!!View attachment 205692

I submitted this one for a potential cover shot...

I was as surprised as Jim to find out that I wasn't on the cover.
