Lots of good advice.

When I was a new diver, I did most of my diving in Cozumel. My wife is a non-diver, so I went on every trip as a new diver without a buddy. It was never a problem. I met some nice people, and I had a wonderful time. Be sure that the dive operator knows your situation. They will be sure to take proper care of you.

Have a great time!

Ever consider Florida? So underrated by those who have never dove there. Key Largo is shallow with wonderful reefs and long bottom times. Ft. Lauderdale has lots of neat wrecks to go with the reefs. Palm Beach is a little deeper with a little of everything to see.

Most dive charters have a DM diving anyway, and they often pair you up with them as a single diver, espcially if your a novice.
