It is easy to practice in the pool. You put each index finger around (and just inside of the eyebrows) making a little cup with the tips of the index fingers coming to the bridge of the nose. you are trying to make a pool (actually a mask) where you catch a small bubble. You release only a small amount of air and then you must keep looking straight downward, you must remain absolutely still or the bottom of the bubble/air interface will have waves on it and distort your vision. You also can not let any more bubbles out from the mouth or nose or they will also make waves.

It is a good trick for the beach or if someone looses something small in a pool and you don't have a mask.

It has taken me only a few minutes to teach my children. The other primary "stupid human trick" of blowing bubble rings is much harder to do.
