I'm a Fish!
I am currently diving with a ScubaPro MK25/S600 system, a SeaQuest ProQD BC, and an AirSource II as my alternate air. A recently was selected to become part of a dive team for my employer and I would like to reconfigure my personal recreational equipment to be compatable with the equipment I will have access to at work, so I'll be going to a standard power inflator on the BCD and octo for my alternate air.
I've been steered to the ScubaPro R295 or R190 as octos by my LDS (I am quite happy with my LDS and their gear recommendations so far).
The qualms I have about these regs is that they do not have a system to adjust the breathing resistance in the water, and I do not know about their cold water performance. I also would not mind a more compact octo.
I will not be using my rec gear for work, but work will be cold water diving and I'll likely be doing more of that recreationally.
Anyone have any advice on a potential octo choice?
