Well, I just got way too cold this weekend after 4 dives in my W2 5mm. I had one Advanced OW Deep Dive and then 3 OW training dives.

Water was a balmy 71 degrees in the Springs and each dive was between 20 and 29 minutes long with 30-60-30 SI's...

The first and second dives were good, but when I got back in for 3, I was just hating it and I pushed myself to even finish dive 4.

I have a H... 5/3 Hoodvest but did not take it, as I dislike the restricted feeling I get in it, with the W2 5mm over it.

So, Do I jump for the W-1 or W-2 7mm..... sorry just can't afford the big bucks for the dry suits... WAY TOO EXPENSIVE

Wished you guys made the W-1 in XLs+ ...

Thanks, I love all my Waterproof suits (Capri Shorty 3mm, Capri full 3mm and the W2 5mm) but I'm just too cold on these last few dives !

I have the W2 7mm front entry, its great, but its hard to get off unless you have a littl help to get it off the shoulder.

A 7 mil will help quite a bit...so will a hood. I didn't like them but got used to it on my head so that I could dive in colder waters.

I have a W1 7mm and use a thin stretchy Henderson 2mm core warmer with it for New England diving. One of my dives was in 30' and it was a brisk 49º. I felt fine and probably could have withstood colder temps. I also use a 5/7mm hood with a long bib that has skin-in around the face. At 71º, a core warmer and a hood would go a long way to keeping you warm with a 5mm. If you don't like wearing anything under the suit, then consider getting the overvest that Waterproof makes (with or without the hood)... although you can only get them from England... but they will sell you one if you contact an online shop.

One other way to keep warm is to flood your suit with warm water before entering so you don't have to heat up a cold layer of water in your suit upon entry. Keep a few jugs warm in a "cooler" for your dives.

Got the replies, thanks. Was pushed a bit and ordered a W-1 Lrg + ....

I'll try it on and if needed will return for W2 XLs+

I'll do a full report ...
