I had an inncodent earlier this month when my reg failed to give me air at 90 ft but worked when I got out of the boat. what does it take to overbreath a reg. Mike
PS I still dont have a clue what happened that day

Everyone is gonna tell ya the same thing right off.

How about a little more info?

My crystal ball is a little hazy today :)

Once tried intentionly tried to out breath the reg...me on the primary 2nd stage and him on the octopus...at 90 ft...we couldn't out breathe the system

A couple of thoughts on your problem...Was your tank valve fully opened? What's the condition of you first stage filter?

I guess you could over breathe a closed valve :eek:ut:

tehehe, I actually thought of that before, but I was waiting to say it.

A partially closed valve was my first thought, obviously.

Tank partly closed was my first thought too. What kind of a reg is it?

R..

Well, thats your first problem right there. Why would you ever use a rental reg for a dive to 90 ft????

Do yourself a huge favor, and buy a reg for yourself.

BTW, I have owned Apeks, and Poseidon regs, and I have NEVER been able to overbreath one. That must've been a real piece of crap reg.

Which goes back to my first question: WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU USE A RENTAL REG FOR A DIVE TO 90 FT?????????

And begs another question, why dont you own your own reg by now???

No more excuses, just go buy one...
