Ive just changed from a 3 chip over to HDV and Im having problems with my PC. The computer recognises the camera in DV mode but not HDV, apparently this is due to a problem with Windows XP just not being able to deal with it yet.
What operating systems does anyone suggest. I use adobe premiere pro 2.0 to edit.

You need an editor that will handle HD. I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum, and it works great for both DV and HDV. Just remember that you still can't burn HD to a DVD, you can just save it back to tape.

Yeah, premiere pro 2.0 takes HD, I think its more of an operating system problem.

Just got it to work, I got another version of Premiere Pro 2.0 but I cannot watch the footage whilst capturing, which is a bit odd. But it captures great. Which is handy cos I got some awesome shots of whalesharks yesterday. Very happy. Thanks for the help.
