Purchasing a DST or DS4 without a second stage.

I bought a XTX50 DIN a few months ago when Apeks was having their "buy a reg and get the octo free" promotion. I love the reg ad the DST it came with. I have recently picked up a pony bottle, and I want to use my XTX50 octo with the bottle (I have an integrated octo on my BCD, so my XTX50 octo is still in the box)

The problem is, I can't find a place that will sell me just the first stage. I called the shop that I bought my XTX50 from and they said Apeks won't sell the DST or DS4 stand alone. Was the guy just being lazy? Does anyone sell just the first stages? How much do they run?

They can order it, they just have to order it as a part and not as a regulator. It's a different catalogue.

the first stages are readily available and can be ordered if your local dive shop does not have any in stock here is the part # for the first stage only Din version AP0528. Any Authorized Aqualung Dealer can assist you in acquiring it.

Service can sketchy but Apeks prices are good and you can buy 1st and 2nd stages indivudually.
