Regarding Storage of O-Rings!!!

well.....the spare main O-ring (sorta rectangular) for my Ike housing came double folded in a zip lock bag from Ikelite.

so I'm guessing it's OK not to keep them in their intended shape.
 
If it's a larger o-ring, like for housing or port, the best thing to do is to coil it in a triple ring, like one does for bicycle tyres and photo reflector rings. New o-rings like this are frequently packaged this way. Easy to do, but difficult to explain with words.

Have done such for years with no problems.
I have no evidence to support, but think best to retain original shape as much as possible, and certainly no sharp bends.
