Has anyone tried using liquid latex. It would probably need several coats, but should be watertight. Don't know how long it would last, though...

The colors are a plus :) liquid latex.net or search on Amazon

I know that liquid latex reacts strongly with iron or copper, due to forming of sulfur compounds. There's no reaction on aluminum and stainless steel, but I don't know about lead... Any chemists around?
